Database Installation Guides
Swordfish III includes an Internal database server engine, especially designed for storing translation memories and terminology material. It also supports these external database engines for sharing translation memories across a LAN:
- RemoteTM - LAN Server
- Oracle 10g/11g
- MySQL 5.x
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
RemoteTM LAN Server uses the custom Internal database engine designed for Swordfish III, providing the fastest sharing option with the easiest management possible.
Oracle offers free Express Editions of Oracle 10g for Windows and Linux. The Express Editions are available for download at Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Downloads
MySQL is a multi-platform database engine that works on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Free versions for non-commercial use are available for download at MySQL 5.0 Downloads
